  1. Article 1:
Well one I know it should be the other way around higher income families should spend more and lower should spend less, I also think that parents shouldn’t have to pick up more on the tab from a or at least pay more than 70%, More then 70 is practically the whole prom. I don’t think it’s that necessary to spend so much on a promposal or prom.

    Article 2:
Promposals are a good way to get a girl to say yes but sometimes it isn’t necessary to spend 300$ on a promposal, especially knowing that she can just say no and your money will wasted for no reason, unless its someone like your girlfriend I can understand, but if its just a girl you have known for 2 or 3 months then there is no need to spend 300$ dollars on a promposal that’s just a little bit too much and sometimes it might even reach 400$ sometimes, if you are going to propose, you need to be smart about it.

    Article 3:
I think the FIFA World Cup should be a google doodle because The FIFA World Cup is a time where all countries settle their differences and become together for one sport that they love and that’s Soccer or Futbol, The Tournament is also a great time, the soccer is great and the atmosphere and fans are great, and there is also a lot of respect on the field there is a lot of anti- racism messages, no one feels left out either, out of the 32 teams that qualify every team is going to have a massive fan base.

  2. Article 1: Prom has always been the highlight of high school for all students. Many students do not go because of the cost and they feel that it is too much money just for one night. I am not surprised at the price of prom but I am surprised at the price of a "promposal" I am actually curious as to what people do to ask someone to go to prom. Spending up to $500 just to ask someone to prom is ridiculous. If anything the most you should spend is around $20 which would include flowers, candies, etc. It may seem cheap but spending $500 for someone just to say yes is a little out of the ordinary. It's not like your getting married and going to spend the rest of your life with this person, your only spending a roughly five hours with them. I've seen the simplest "promposals" that didn't even cost a penny and still have a lot of meaning to it. For example, last year a girl who played softball was asked to prom with a baseball thrown to her that sad "PROM?" on it. It was cute and didn't cost $500. Your suppose to enjoy yourself when it comes to prom, even though it may be pricey, but there is no need to make it even more expensive than what it is.

Article 2: Article 2 is very similar to article 1 but it brings up a very interesting topic. It shows teens how to budget their prom costs. As I was reading I was curious to how it actually worked, so I downloaded it myself. Plan 'it Prom is very unique and helpful for teens and their costs towards prom. The prom has categories on what your budget is and what you actually spent, a calculator that includes the tax rates, tips, and discount price, and tips on what you should do to save money. I think it is a very helpful tool and I think I will be using it for my prom.

Article 3: If I had to come up with a google doodle I would do one that dealt with music. I would base it off of guitar hero, so you would press the arrow key whenever it would hit the line and if you did well you would be the musical genius.

  3. A1: I went to prom last year, so I understand that prom is very costly. While reading through this article I thought back to how I managed my finances for promposals and prom night. Because it wasn't my actual senior prom, I didn't want to over do anything so I bought a bouquet of flowers for the promposals, I rented a good looking tuxedo, paid for the limo, bought the corsages, and paid for my tickets all a little over 400$. That's not bad and for my senior prom I'm not going to spend over 1,000$ in one night like people in the article did. It is just outrageous for one night only. Then there are also the women who have it worse cuz they have to pay for nails, dress, hairstyle, heels, etc. and statistically speaking their expenses are highly than it is for men at prom.

A2: I find this article even crazier than the other prom article, because this article states specifics about how families with low income will spend a little under 7% of their total income all for a promposal. That is really mind boggling to find someone go to great lengths just to ask someone to prom, and if she says no that that would really suck with all the money and time you spent. I highly believe you should go all out for a girl at prom, but there are ways of doing that without spending thousands of dollars.

A3: I love when Google doodle gets creative with there pictures. The last game like doodle Google did that I could remember was for Pac-Man when they had their anniversary some time ago. I never heard of this game but I really loved it. Also Google doodle raises awareness on so many things that go on in this world on a specific day. If they were to ever make another Google doodle in the form of a game like they did for this game, then they have to do the old super Mario bros. game because that game has been around for a while and is known worldwide. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they put that game into consideration for their next anniversary.

  4. Article 1

Well to me prom is very important. I’ve been planning this day since the first grade with my friend from Copiague. It just so happens that her graduation is the same day as our prom. Although she cannot come, me and my date are going to kill the scene. My jacket is custom made. I’m wearing Christian Louboutin on my feet. Salvatore Ferragamo around my waist. Zara on my legs. Michael Kors on my wrist and I will be pulling up in the foreign type. Personally my prom expenses exceed the average expenses of students attending prom in the Northeastern region.

    Article 2
Necessarily I wasn’t worried too much about my prom proposal. My main focus was on prom. But if I was to do a big prom proposal it would probably only cost me $30.00 for flowers and balloons. I would get the rest of my materials from my art teacher such as big white poster paper. I would spell out prom on four pieces of paper and tape it to the back of each lunch table and as my date walks in I would be behind the tables and each table will turn one by one with me coming from behind. So once again I can not relate to other prom proposals in the Northeaster n region.

    Article 3
My Google Doodle is very unique, it is based on black and white people coming together with peace and prosperity. The background of my doodle will be a black and white hand locked together and the G would be George W.Bush, the O would be Malcolm X , the other O would be George Washington ,the other G would be Martin Luther King, the L would be Abraham Lincoln and the E would be Barack Obama. I just wish people of many colors could get along.

  5. Article 1: We all know that prom is the most exciting part of senior year. Yes over the years of course there’s some changes. For examples money is increasing. People are paying more than thousands of money on prom. But the question is can everyone afford it? I believe that prom shouldn’t be all expensive. But still parents need to buy other things but will mostly like to spend whatever it takes so their son or daughter can have a great prom and can have a good night whether they have a date or no.
Article 2: Promposals is such a great start to get ready for prom. But like I said before what we mostly need is money. Paying more than $100 dollars on a promposal is not good. I think a promposal shouldn’t be about spending money and asking a girl or boy, whether they say yes or no. I think it’s the time what you do and how you do it. I don’t think you should waste a lot of money just on a promposal. Maybe a nice balloon or a little teddy bear is cute and simple. But paying hundredths of dollar just for a promposal isn’t necessary. Yes I would like a nice huge promposal but I wouldn’t want them to waste more than $100 because prom is expensive and takes time to do many things just for one night.
Artictle 3: Honestly I don’t know but the game is somewhat fun. Yes it’s annoying when you lose but still I think this is such a great thing to know especially because I didn’t even notice about this until right now.

  6. Article 1: I agree with Briauna that prom is the highlight of high school for majority of the students. There are some people who of course don't go to prom because they don't want to waste money for just one night, in my opinion I believe it's worth it. Im not worried about the cost of prom. I do however find it surprising that families with lower incomes are paying more than families with higher incomes, when it should be the other way around as Jose said. I don't believe you should spend so much on a promposal.

Article 2: A promposal is great way to get someone to say yes, but the answer is always 50% - 50%. You can spend more $500 for a promposal and she/he can say no, then all your money goes to waste. Spending money on a promposal I guess is okay for someone you truly like or for a special friend but for someone you just want to go with to spend your prefect night with is unnecessary.

Article 3: If I had to do a google doodle, I would do children coming together holding hands. I would create children sitting on the O's and holding hands or have the O's shaped as Earth with children all around it. I would create this doodle because it shows respect towards one another and how we are equal and need to come as one and treat each other as human beings.

    1. I disagree with spending money on someone for a promposal. The money you are using to pay for the promposal could have been used for something else. You shouldnt waste money for it at all its unnecessary from all point of views.

  7. Article 1: Honestly I don’t understand why someone would spend so much money on a prompsal. I’d be fine with some flowers and pizza with Prom? on the inside. How much would that cost? Like $20 $30. Or even just him asking me while we’re out on a date. Whether you think of marrying the person or they’re just a friend, anything more than $100 is just ridiculous. There are so many things that one could do with $300-$1000 dollars. Also, what if the person says no? Now wouldn't that suck? Don’t spend it on a day you probably won’t even remember or on someone you’ll most likely never see again.

Article 2: I don’t believe that parents should be paying so much for promposals. If my child wanted to ask a girl out the max I’d fork over is $100. Now with that being said, I understand that prom is a very exciting time for teens so they believe they should spend whatever they want but it’s also a short period of time and I don’t think they understand that. It’s one day; would you go out and spend $1000 every other day? Mostly likely not so why today? It’s a waste of money which could be put towards other things

Article 3: I think Jackie Chan should have a Google doodle for his birthday. Jackie Chan has gone through so many years of hard work; he did most if not all of his own stunts and has endured through many injuries. A game Chan could have is one of him fighting against another opponent and going through many obstacles and the winning prize could be an inspiring quote of his or something like that.

  8. Article 1: Senior year in high school is the most expensive because of senior banquet and prom. Prom is the most expensive because off dresses, hair, mens tux, nails, shoes and etc. Also the new thing in style promposal is making it way more expensive, a lot of student feel like they need to waste money in order to get a date instead of asking someone the formal way.

I agree with parents being more involved financially this following year from personal experiences. My parents are helping out majorily this year and I have a job, prom is so expensive and I have a job. Dresses cost around 800$, shoes around 200$, limousine around 500$, and etc. You practically pay over 2,000$ for one night which is outrageous.

Article 2: Spending over 300$ for a promposal is ridiculous, low income families who can barely make the budget with prom are spending unnecessary money on an obnoxious way of asking someone to prom. Even being with someone for 2-3 years is not acceptable. Senior year is so costly promposal should not even be in the budget. Also Plan’it Prom app offer tips are very helpful on ways to save money.

Article 3: Google always comes up with nice creative things for there website. If I had to do a google doodle I would pick a social problem for more people to be aware of. I would probably pick gun violence, just a little meme of gun violence. Helping people be aware of social problems would be a good look for google.

    Article 1

I believe that prom is becoming a bit more bigger then what it originally was because it is way to much money being spend on it staring with proposals. i think that if you try to put your mind to it and actually think how you really want to ask your especial one you can come up with something pretty good and not waste $400 on it. I also know that prices always go up every year just like the minimum wage. Even thought i think it is good by the reason the it does help the economy, i still think that people who make less then an income of 25,000 a year really should be spending $1,400 on prom for the reason of it is putting the country in more debt.

    Marvin A. Cisneros

    Article 2

As my first opinion i believe it is a crazy how much money people spend on prom. Specially on proposals them selfs. I can understand the expenses of tickets, food, clothing, and pictures but not the proposals. Proposals should be creative and i think that if someone wants to go with you no matter how simple you probably ask but if you really ask with dedication them they will say yes. I don’t even think that even marriages should be as expensive as they are because the people are now begging to be interested in the money not in the person they’re with.

  14. Article 1: There are so many students whose parents cant afford to help pay for their prom and they don't have that kind of opportunity. I spoke to so many people who graduated high school and didn't attend their prom. Whether they graduated just last year or several years ago, they all said that they regret not going. Of course its a lot of money, but they are memories your not going to want to miss. some students have no choice but to pay for it with their own hard earned money, not have it just given to them. It sucks knowing its only for one night, but for that one night, you will create amazing memories before you depart with the people you watched grow with you throughout the years. And you will be cherishing it for the rest of your life. Prom does not NEED to be expensive. There are so many alternatives for transportation, dresses/tuxes, after prom. I know this from all the prom research I had to do for mine. The thing is, everyone things that paying less is just settling, but that's not the case. There are so many alternatives with high quality and promising outcomes, most don't take the time out to look online and do the research OR just prefer the more expensive option.

  15. Article 1: I think that it's rid how the higher income families spend less on prom than lower income families.prom is the once or if your lucky, twice in a lifetime experience for many high school students. But spending $500 to just ask someone to prom is crazy unless you're super rich. I never spend that much money just for a promposal. For my prom,I will be spending less than $800.

Article 2: it's hard for me to believe that people actually spend over $300 just for a promposal. I spent $0 on asking my date to prom and it was still special. I agree with setting a budget for prom, because it is supposed to be something enjoyable and not stressful. Not having a proposed budget can cause extra stress for the parent and teenager and can make it seem impossible to afford. I also think it's funny how northeastern families, which include New Yorkers, spend an average of $1169 on prom.

Article 3: The Google doodle that I would create would be science and math based. If you didn't type in the right answer, you would hit into an obstacle. This would bring a light to the science and math world.

  16. Article 1: Prom is a once in a lifetime event. Unless you get left back or go to someone else’s prom. It’s an event every student should experience and is basically one of your rewards for graduating high school. The cost for prom I disagree with though. The most you should be spending on prom is 500$ in total for everything in my opinion. The fact that people are spending a 1000$ plus on prom is outrageous. Parents need to give their teenagers a money limit for prom because if those teens were paying for prom themselves they would not be spending that much money. I also think that it should be the teens that pay for their own prom. I know I’m definitely paying for my prom out of my pocket.
Article 2: The money teens are spending on promposals is crazy. I didn’t pay any money for my promposal and if I was too, the most I would spend is 80$. Not 300$ and up. What are you doing that you need to spend 300$ to ask someone to go to prom with you? You should be winning their heart over, not buying it. This planitprom app that they invented seems really cool and handy. If that doesn’t help teens spend less, I don’t know what will.
Article 3: The Google doodle is really a great thing that they have going on right now. It sparks imagination and creativity. It’s also a fun game and very entertaining. If I were to create a google doodle game it would be a football game for the Super Bowl. There is a tremendous amount of people that watch football in the U.S. and I believe a lot of people would play it.

  17. Article 1: i agree with Jose in that it is not necessary to spend so much on a promposal or prom, but i also agree with Briauna in that prom is a big night that most people will remember high school for. So i feel that you can still go to prom and have fun without spending so much money. But i also feel if students want expensive stuff for prom, they should get a job and help out with the bill.

Article 2: Honestly, i don't get the point of promposals. People are wasting money on a person you might not see outside of high school. I can understand if you've been with this person since the beginning of high school, but even then, they should love you enough that you do not need to ask them to prom in an expensive way. People can save a lot of money by simple just asking or do it in an inexpensive, creative way.

Article 3: If I had to do a google doodle, I would make one that promotes protecting the earth so it brings more attention to that area. Or even one that brings attention to the growing misuse of technology and laziness of people.

    Article 1
According to the article families with lower income tend to spend more money on prom. In my opinion if you don’t have the finances to go above and beyond then you should stay in your financial. I understand that you might want to give your child everything they want but can always shop in your budget. Going over your budget is just going to effect you later on. I get you might want prom to be the one night you’ll never forget, but at the same time you can get quality things for a great price. Why be in debt over spending a lot of money on one night.

    Article 2
Being a girl of course you want to be asked to prom in a way that is not so basic. So the fact that a guy you like is going to extreme measures to impress you makes you feel special. Now, I’m not saying that a guy should be spending hundreds of dollars to ask you a simple question, because, I’m sure there are more creative ways he can ask without having to break his bank. I can admit spending $200-$400 is a bit much. Another reason why it might be ridiculous to spend so much money is because what if she says no then your asked out. Now, your all embarrassed with no date and most importantly you wasted all this time and money.

    Article 3
Google is always creative with it comes to holidays, celebrating birthdays, and especially holidays. Although I've never heard of this Pony Express game, Google came up with a great idea to celebrate the anniversary of this game. If I had a choice I would want to be able to play the Sonic racing game on there anniversary. As a child I loved playing any type of racing game on my GameBoy. I would create the game where you can be able to race against anyone in the world, then have a final round where the best of the best players compete for a grand cash prize.
